Privacy Policy

No accounts required Conversations aren't stored Each request is discarded after processing Summarizing is optional and opt-in

01 · what we collect

Information you provide

When you use Chat Extractor, you submit a share URL. That URL is sent to our server so it can fetch and parse the page. We don't require an account, name, or email address to use the service.

02 · what happens to it

How your request is processed

The submitted URL is fetched, the conversation on the page is parsed into plain text, and that text is returned directly to your browser. This processing happens per-request — we don't save the fetched conversation content, and we don't build a history of what you've extracted.

Standard technical logs (such as timestamps, response status, and error type) may be kept briefly for debugging and abuse prevention. These logs are not used to reconstruct conversation content.

03 · storage on your side

Copying and downloading

Any text you copy or download using the Copy or Download buttons is saved locally on your own device, the same as any other file or clipboard action. We have no visibility into, or control over, what you do with it after that point.

04 · optional AI summarization

Summarize feature

If you choose to click Summarize, the extracted conversation text is sent to a third-party AI service to generate a short summary. This only happens when you actively request it — extracting or viewing a transcript never triggers this on its own.

Text sent for summarization isn't stored on our servers. It's subject to the AI provider's own data handling and retention practices, separate from this policy. If a conversation contains sensitive information you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI service, skip the Summarize button for that one.

05 · third-party platforms

Source platforms

To extract a conversation, the service fetches a page hosted by the source platform (for example ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Meta AI, or Perplexity). That request may be visible to the source platform the same way any page view would be. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle share links and page views — this policy only covers what Chat Extractor itself does.

06 · cookies & analytics

Tracking

Chat Extractor does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. If basic, privacy-preserving analytics are ever added to understand overall usage (not individual conversations), this policy will be updated to describe them.

07 · changes

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Check back here if you want to know what's currently in effect.
